On September 19, 2016 I weighed in to see the number on the scale at 228 pounds! Not only was I frustrated by that number, but I was extremely disappointed at myself. How did I let myself get to that point?
You see, I have been on this weight loss journey for a little over a year. 7 months postpartum, weighing at 236 pounds. Since May 2015 to be exact. During my first few weeks I managed to be consistent with eating healthy and exercising everyday and therefore lost 20 pounds. Then I just got stuck. The numbers didn’t go down anymore. Summer came around which meant lots of road trips, eating out and lack of meal planning.
New Year came, and of course I had my biggest New Year’s resolution- reach my goal weight by summer! I started right on track. New goals, self motivated, and a great desire to feel comfortable in my own skin. I started Insanity Max:30, and finally got down to 200 pounds! Oh, I was so dang happy. And then, I got stuck AGAIN!!! This time, things got worse. I really gained 28 pounds in just 2 months. 2 MONTHS! What the heck?! I can’t even smell pizza without inhaling the calories and absorbing them (HA!) I know my eating was off, but it wasn’t anything extreme. I just ate a little more than usual (sweets and more sweets)
I remember listening to Dr Joel Fuhrman on YouTube and found his book Eat To Live on Amazon. I ordered it, and it immediately made sense to me. The whole whole foods plant based eating is something I’ve had in my mind to do just never knew how to begin.
So this is how I will start, again, my weight loss journey and this time I will have a transformation.
